AIM: to aid YOUR
understanding of the photographers/artists intention, and think more about the
language you use when discuss photography.
Task 1- in groups select 4 areas to discuss about the
photograph. Write down some observations in your group.
The Visual Content;
- · Focal Point

- · Symmetry
- · Verticals or Horizontals
- · Direction of Light
- · Shape or Form
- · Shadows
- · Contrast
- · Tonal Range- if the image is dark or light
- · Atmosphere
- · Recurring themes
- · Patterns
- · Composition or Framing- if the photographer has used a window or a doorway to frame the image.

Task 2- in your groups discuss ONE of the terms
below. Write down some words that you have found.
